式辞
皆様、富山大学への入学、誠におめでとうございます。教職員を代表して式辞を述べさせていただきます。また、御来賓の方々には、御多忙の中、御臨席を賜り厚く御礼申し上げます。本日、令和８年度入学式において、大学院修士課程521名、博士課程67名、教職大学院13名、合計601名の皆さんを富山大学にお迎えすることができました。うち、62名は海外留学生であり、富山大学が国際化している事を実感いたします。 皆さんとの新しい出会いの日を迎えること、私ども大学の教職員にとっては大きな喜びであり、富山大学を代表し、心よりお祝いを申し上げます。
Since we have international students here today, I would like to give a short congratulatory message in English. First of all, as the president of University of Toyama, I welcome you all and give my warmest congratulations. Today, the University of Toyama welcomed 601 new graduate students, including 62 international students.
皆さんがこれから歩む大学院での学びは、学部教育と大きく異なります。大学院とは既にある知識を学ぶ場であると同時に、未知の課題を探求し新しい知を創造する場です。今、世界は環境変動、人口構造の変化、貧富の差の拡大、国際紛争、生成AIの進展、医療?福祉の高度化などの複雑な課題に満ちています。そのため、これらの新しいかつ困難な課題を解決するために大学院で学んだ高度人材が世界中で求められています。また、学部を跨ぐような学部横断的総合知が必要とされています。中央教育審議会からは、研究者養成に偏った教育から、多様なキャリアに応える大学院への転換が求められています。これらの人材は、産業界、公務、教育など幅広い分野で即戦力となる高度専門職人材となります。 そのため富山大学では、令和４年度から、大学院の大改革を行ない、理工系、医薬系、理系学部すべてを含む、医薬理工学環、文理融合である持続可能社会創成学環、人社芸術系の人文社会芸術総合研究科、ならびに教職実践開発研究科に再編し、少なくとも２つ以上の学部が融合して、大学院生を教育し、総合知を学ぶ場を提供しています。
Graduate education differs significantly from undergraduate study. A graduate school is not only a place to learn existing knowledge, but also a place to explore unknown challenges and create new knowledge. Today, the world faces complex issues such as climate change, demographic changes, widening social disparities, international conflicts, the rapid development of generative AI, and the advancement of healthcare and welfare systems. For this reason, highly skilled individuals trained in graduate education are increasingly needed worldwide, along with interdisciplinary knowledge that goes beyond traditional academic boundaries. Graduate schools are now expected to prepare students for diverse career paths, enabling them to contribute immediately in fields such as industry, government, and education. In response, the University of Toyama has undertaken major reforms of its graduate programs since 2022. By integrating multiple academic fields, we provide an environment where students can develop comprehensive and interdisciplinary knowledge.
修士課程では、学部で学んだ基礎をさらに発展させ、より専門的な知識?技術を身につける事を目的に研究を始めます。つまり研究者としての基礎力を身につけます。 博士課程でも研究を行ないますが、誰もやった事のない事を生み出すというオリジナルの研究を行ないます。そのため多くの失敗を繰り返しますが、その中で解決策を見い出し、自立した研究者として活動する能力を得る事が出来ます。 修士課程、博士課程とも、皆さんにとって初めてのチャレンジではありますが、仲間や上級生、教員もしくは、学会で知り合った他の教員にも教えていただきながら、是非とも新知見を発見して下さい。これらの経験が社会に出た際、種々の課題を発見し、その対策を理論的に考察し、かつ実効できる人材への成長を促します。
In the master’s programs, students further develop the foundations learned at the undergraduate level and acquire advanced expertise through research, building essential skills as researchers. In the doctoral programs, students engage in original research that no one has attempted before. Although this process involves many challenges and setbacks, it fosters the ability to identify solutions and to work independently as researchers.
Both master’s and doctoral studies represent new challenges. By learning from peers, senior students, faculty members, and scholars you meet through academic communities, I encourage you to discover new knowledge. These experiences will help you grow into professionals who can identify social issues, analyze them logically, and implement effective solutions.
富山大学大学院では、１）専門知識の深さ、２）研究能力の向上、３）研究者や専門家とのネットワークの構築、４）キャリアの選択肢の拡大など、将来のキャリアにおいて多くのメリットが生じており、社会から求められる人材を輩出しており、企業や行政からも高く評価していただいています。皆さんの生活を補助するために、富山大学や文部科学省から大学院生に対する、種々の奨学金制度がありますので、どうか利用していただきたいと思います。そのような対応を評価していただき、今年度、予想を上回る国内外の学生が大学院に入学していただきました。本日、大学院に入学された学生諸君には、ぜひとも、社会から求められる人材に大きく成長していただきたいと願っています。
Graduate education at the University of Toyama offers many benefits for your future careers, including deeper expertise, improved research skills, expanded professional networks, and broader career opportunities. Various scholarship programs are available from the university and the government to support your studies. As a result, we have welcomed more students than expected from Japan and abroad. I sincerely hope that all students admitted today will grow into individuals who are highly valued by society.
私は、富山大学を「みんなで創ろう、おもしろい大学」にしたいと思っています。これから皆様と一緒に学ぶことの「おもしろさ」を実感していただけるよう、我々教職員は全力で支援いたしますので、是非とも充実したおもしろい学生生活を送ってください。皆さんが大学院で過ごす時間は、人生の中でも特に密度の高い、かけがえのない時間になるでしょう。志を高く持って、挑戦を恐れず、果敢に研究へと取り組んで下さい。また、ご家族の皆様には、お子さんの自立性を尊重しつつ、成長を見守り、応援していただきたいと思います。 皆さんの学生生活が、実り多いものになることを祈念し、式辞といたします。
I would like to make our university to “Omoshiroi University Life” which means interesting, that we can all create together. We will do our utmost to support you so that you can fully experience the joy of learning. Your time in graduate school will be one of the most meaningful and special periods of your life. Set your goals high, do not fear challenges, and devote yourselves to your research. To the families here today, I kindly ask for your continued support as your children grow in independence. I sincerely wish all of you a fulfilling and rewarding graduate life. Thank you.
